![]() Day 21 is "something living outside". I was able to find the ornamental grass still hanging around. The temperatures outside this past weekend were wonderful. Temps in the upper 60's and 70's. Happy dance!!! ![]() Day 22 "the weather outside". Current weather is sunny, but cool. This is about to change to very cold over the next few days, and then we will be back to sunny and cool by the weekend. In Texas, if you don't like the weather just wait because it will change and then change again... ![]() Day 23 was to take a pic of something colorful outside. This is about all I have in the yard that is left that is colorful. Ornamental cabbage is one of my favorite because is will last from fall to winter. ![]() Day 24 - something you walk upon outside. This i my crazy Jack Russell who was enjoying the warm sun outside. ![]() Day 25 is something outside that is unique. I bought this iron cactus several years ago at a flea market. It looks great with my Texas themed house and yard. You have to agree this is pretty unique!

![]() Just about any outdoor location can make for a great setting for pictures. This family picture was taken within walking distance from my parents house. The natural backdrop of the woods with its tall trees, bushes and grassy areas are perfect for capturing those shots! You want your surroundings to compliment your subjects not take away from it. Go out there and take a look at what local areas where you live make a great spot for family pictures. You might be surprised at what you find. ![]() Playing a little catch up. I guess I have spring fever early because I have been cleaning out closets, organizing cabinets, and dusting everything. I found a suggestion on Pinterest on how to add shine to your hardwood floors without using expensive or harsh chemicals. It called for equal parts of vinegar and olive oil. I already had the ingredients so I thought why not?!? I put the vinegar and olive oil in a spray bottle and then sprayed small sections at a time on the floor. I then took a damp mop and mopped over to spread out the mixture. I took an old towel and buffed the floor until it shined. It did not take too long because I only have a small area in the front of the house. Thank goodness! I thought the floors looked silky smooth. The word for January 18 was silky so I thought this picture fit. I took the shot from this angle because this is the level I was on, my knees, while buffing into a "silky" shine. ![]() January 19 theme is "looking out the window". I took a picture out our front window. The weather has been wonderful this past weekend. Temps in the 60's. Of course, we live in Texas so it could change at anytime. If you don't like the weather, just wait cause it will change. LOL ![]() Finally caught up! Today's theme is tree(s). I love this willow tree in my backyard. In the spring and summer when there are leaves on it the branches provide a much need shade over the open patio. I wanted to show the picture below I took before Christmas when we had the ice storm. This is the same tree all covered in ice. I was so afraid the heaviness of the ice would break the branches, but we were lucky it did not. |
AuthorI love to capture those special moments in people's lives through photography. I am constantly looking at a scene and thinking how could that work in a photo session, or what angle would work to capture the beauty that God has blessed us with. Archives
