![]() This is one of my favorite pictures I took because it is of a happy dog. I had painted a board with chalkboard paint then used colored chalk to write the words. This is one of my daughter's sweet dogs that did a perfect pose for the camera.

![]() Samuell Farm is located in Mesquite off highway 80 between Beltline and Collins. The area was originally deeded to the city of Dallas by Dr W. W. Samuell to be used as park land and is estimated to be around $60 million. Earlier the property had animals and activities for children such as hayrides, summer camps, horseback riding and fishing but these days its more used as a picnic area and places for school trips. This location offers numerous spots for scenic pictures. There are open areas framed by large trees, ponds, bridge and rock area, as well as an old red barn that makes for a great backdrop for pictures in a natural setting. Samuell Farm makes a great place for photographers as well as offering a little bit of country life in the city. ![]() The Dallas Arboretum is one of the most beautiful outdoor attractions around. It features 66-acres of spectacular display gardens that showcase incredible seasonal flowers, ornamental shrubs, trees and plant collections on White Rock Lake. Individual tickets can be purchased, or a yearly membership which will get you in through out the year. There are numerous locations throughout the gardens that offer beautiful and unique settings for any type of pictures. The Arboretum is a very popular place for bridal and senior portraits. I just love to go and take pictures of the scenery. I could spend hours there! A fun and unique place for taking pictures is at The Harbor in Rockwall. The Harbor is located on the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard, and offers shopping, fine dining, movie theater and specialty shops. There is a beautiful water feature, lighthouse, unique walkways and bridges that make for a great backdrop for any photos. I even found some rustic Texas doors that would make a great background. I found the best time of day to take pictures at The Harbor is early morning before most of the shops and restaurants open. That way you can get some good shots of your subject before there are lots of people around.
![]() I love the spring time, and one of my favorite places to take pictures is in a field of Texas bluebonnets. The bluebonnets add such vibrant blue colors that really stand out in a picture. The down side of pictures in the bluebonnets is they only last for about a month, and the vibrancy of the color depends on the amount of early spring rain we get. So if you see a beautiful field of bluebonnets, don't delay in taking pictures. The flowers may only be around for a short time. Go ahead and get those pictures! |
AuthorI love to capture those special moments in people's lives through photography. I am constantly looking at a scene and thinking how could that work in a photo session, or what angle would work to capture the beauty that God has blessed us with. Archives
