Foto Flexer is a free fun site that allows you to give your photo a very unique look.  There is no sign up and the process is very easy.  Foto Flexer also offers editing features as well.  The examples below are the same photo.  I posted the original one first the I used a different fun effect on each one.  My favorite is the second one which is the pop art effect.  I love how you can take one photo and create so many different looks!

Shape Collage allows you to create some really fun shapes using your images.  Below you can see the 3 different ones I created with just one group of pictures.  The basic Shape Collage is free which allows you to create pretty much any shape you want.  There is a paid version that does not have the watermark on it if you want to check into that.  The site has lots of good information as well as videos on how to use Shape Collage can be used.  Once you decide you want to use Shape Collage, you download the program onto your computer.  The program is available to Mac and Windows computers.  Very easy and fast.

Pic Monkey is another free online photo editing site.  The free version has lots of features, but there is also a paid version that has more, and is add free.  You can do basic editing in Pic Monkey as well as create unique looks for your photos.  Below is a collage I create in Pic Monkey.  I was able to add pictures, move them around and change the outline color to green.

This picture I also edited in Pic Monkey using an adjusted Sepia tone, text, clip art (star), and a frame.  Pic Monkey can be very addicting.  There are lots of fun features available.

In honor of Valentines Day coming soon, I created a collage in Photo Visi with some of the pictures I took of my beautiful niece.  Photo Visi offers a variety of collage choices based on theme and look.  All you have to do is choose a collage template, add your pictures, text, additional clip art, and background color.  You can share your collage on Facebook, Twitter, email, or download to your computer.

Share Your Pictures with Others using Dropbox

Dropbox is a great way to share files and images with others.  You can also store files, documents, pictures, etc. in dropbox, and access these files from any computer, iphone, or ipad.  I use about 3 different electronic devices at work, and 3 at home so dropbox is the perfect solution for storing files that you can access from anywhere.  There are three different pricing options in Dropbox.  The free service is plenty for me.  I have not had a problem with needing more storage space yet.  If you have a folder with pictures you want to share in dropbox, you just share the link with others so they can have access too.

For those of you that loved the online photo editing site Picnic, and cried when it went away, Ribbet is a wonderful alternative!  It looks very much like Picnic, and right now, the premium version is free if you sign up.  Ribbet has your basic features as well as lots of fun and creative tools to make your photos look unique.  I could literally spend hours on this site...  Below are some of the features Ribbet has to offer.
  • Fix your photos in a single click
  • Fine-tune your results with advanced controls
  • Crop, re-size, and rotate in real-time
  • Tons of special effects, from artsy to fun
  • Astoundingly fast, right in your browser
  • Awesome fonts and top-quality type tool
  • Pond-fulls of shapes from hand-picked designers
  • Works on Mac, Windows, and Linux
  • No download, installation or sign-up required
Below are two images I enhanced in Ribbet.  The first is a collage where I added text and clip art.  The other picture is one where I added some real fun effects such as fog and ghosts.  I also made the picture black and white with a black frame.  Lots of fun!!!

Dr Pic is a online editing tool that offers the basic editing features such as resizing, cropping, auto correct, text, etc.  They also have some neat affects that can be applied to your picture.  I gave this picture a raised affect and then applied the oil painting feature to give it a real cool look.

Kizoa is a fun photo editing site that offers a variety of features.  The basic package, which is free, offers a storage capacity of 1GB, free content for slide shows, collages and photo editing and the ability to share your creations via email, Facebook, Twitter etc.

The Premium Web 1 year package is just $29.99 a year.  It offers the basic features, unlimited photo storage, premium content for slideshows, collages, and photo editing, no branding when embedding slideshows or sharing, you can upload your own music, and a new feature that allows you to animate your collages.

The Premium DVD 2 year package is $49.99 for 2 years.  It offers the Basic and Web features, you can animate your colleges, burn slideshows onto DVD, convert slideshows into video, and you can add an unlimited number of songs to a slideshow.

I was able to make this college using the basic features.  You are pretty limited using the Basic features, but there is still a decent selection of things you can use to create.  If you don't have any other photo editing program, or a slide show creator, the Premium Web and Premium DVD packages might be a good deal for you.

Picasa Web Album

Picasa, a part of Google, is an album storage for your pictures.  Go to Picasa and download the program to your computer.  Picasa offers photo storage on your computer as well as online.  One of my favorite features of Picasa, is the ability to share your photos with others in a web album online.  I also like how easy it is to create a photo collage in Picasa.  As a photographer, I have often used the Picasa web album feature to share photos with a client.  Below are directions on how to create a web album in Picasa and share it online.

  • After you have opened Picasa on your computer, click on the picture or album of pictures you want to share.
  • Remember you can hold down the shift key to select several pictures in a row, or the control key to select pictures at random.
  • Once you have selected the pictures you want to share, click on the Share button.  A box will pop up that will allow you to name your album, give a brief description, determine who can look at your web album, a box for a email message, and a box to add emails of those you want to share this album with.  You also have the option of letting others contribute to your album by clicking on the box labeled "Let these people contribute to my album."
  • After all the information has been filled in, click on the button.  Your pictures will then be uploaded to an online web album where you can view them.  Emails will be sent, that will include a link, to anyone you shared the album with.

I love to capture those special moments in people's lives through photography.  I am constantly looking at a scene and thinking how could that work in a photo session, or what angle would work to capture the beauty that God has blessed us with.
